Center for the Arts

Community and business leaders in Loudoun County, VA have joined together to form Center for the Arts, a 501(C)(3) organization that will bring the construction of a performing and visual arts facility in Loudoun one step closer to reality.

The mission of the Center for the Arts is to provide a venue to foster and support community visual and performing artists, arts organizations, and students of the arts; to provide a quality setting for diverse arts entertainment and educational experiences to enrich the cultural and intellectual growth of the community; and to attract and engage professional and renowned performance groups and visual artists to the arts venue.

The Board of Directors will be working with community, arts, business and elected leaders to form partnerships in this effort, and to identify the most suitable location for an arts venue to meet the needs of the community. It is the Board's vision that an Arts Center will educate, entertain and enrich the lives of the residents of Loudoun County and the surrounding region. The Center will be a world-class venue and important resource for community arts groups, student, teachers, business, civic and service groups.

The Center will host professional performances by local artists as well as regional and national performance groups, appealing to broad audiences.

Bluemont Concert Series
The Bluemont Concert Series presents a wide variety of community events such as public concerts on the green, old time country dances, and special events around the region.

Blue Ridge Thunder Cloggers
Blue Ridge Thunder Cloggers dance to all types of music including traditional bluegrass, country, pop rock, Irish and orchestral. They perform at many local festivals, school functions, community events, retirement centers, malls and private parties.

Dominion Jazz Ensemble
Formerly the Loudoun County Jazz Ensemble, this is a sixteen-person ensemble that performs swing and big band music from the 1940s through today.

Growing Stage Theater Company
The Growing Stage Theater Company presents quality theatrical performances to Loudoun County and its surrounding communities.

Loudoun Arts Council
The Loudoun Arts Council promotes the arts in Loudoun County by providing information about arts events to the community and assisting arts organizations and individual artists through its programs, including ArtShare grants, Excellence in the Arts competition for high school students, and Arts in Offices showcasing local visual artists in local businesses.

Loudoun Ballet Company
Loudoun Ballet Company is an internationally renowned ballet company based in Leesburg. Their busy performance schedule includes an annual holiday performance of the Nutcracker and concerts in the fall and spring. The company also sponsors an annual choreography competition attracting top choreographers from around the region.

Loudoun Border Guards Fife & Drum Corp
The Loudoun Border Guards is part of the non-profit organization Music In Time, Inc. They are a historically rich performing group located in Leesburg, Virginia. Established in 1996, the Loudoun Border Guards strives to educate people through their music.

The Loudoun Chorale
The Loudoun Chorale is a 60-member community-based choral ensemble performing both traditional and contemporary works.

Loudoun Lyric Opera
Founded in 2007, Loudoun Lyric Opera is the resident opera company of Loudoun County.

Loudoun Summer Music Fest
This is an outdoor summer concert series presenting national and internationally famous rock and roll and jazz performances that can be enjoyed from a lawn chair or blanket.

Loudoun Symphony
The Loudoun Symphony performs classical music performances ranging from full orchestral works, intimate chamber concerts, educational programs, and an annual Pops Gala.

Loudoun Symphonic Winds
The Winds offer the best of yesterday's and today's concert band music. The Loudoun Community Band, Inc., is the parent organization to the Loudoun Symphonic Winds and several other ensembles, including the Loudoun Jazz Ensemble, the Loudoun Brass Quintet, the Loudoun Saxophone Quartet, and the Loudoun Flute Ensemble.

Lucketts Bluegrass Series
For more than 30 years, this series has presented the best regional and national bluegrass groups at the Lucketts Community Center.

Master Singers of Virginia
A thirty member choral ensemble, they perform high quality masterpieces, primarily of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Northern Virginia Performing Arts Company
The Northern Virginia Performing Arts Company (NOVAPAC) brings high quality performances to Loudoun County, including the annual Nutcracker and their annual Spring Ballet. The company is also involved with many community events.

Not Just Shakespeare, Inc.
This is a home-grown, community-based classic theatre for all ages.

Round Hill Arts Center's Bluegrass & Folk Jam Sessions
A family-friendly, organic mix of music and fun, they sponsor free-flowing bluegrass and folk music. Anyone can play or just listen.

Sterling Playmakers
The Sterling Playmakers have a ten-year tradition of creating live Broadway-style theater performances for the enjoyment and involvement of the whole community. In addition to musicals with casts of thousands, they often mount smaller, dramatic productions.

VSA Arts
VSA Arts Virginia-Loudoun County is a fully inclusive visual and performing arts program that provides discovery opportunities for individuals with and without disabilities.

Waterford Concert Series
This community-based series attracts a diversity of classical music and performers in historic Waterford. They are temporarily based out of the Lucketts Community Center following a tragic fire in early 2007.
