Rocket challenge
Thu., May. 24 | 01:00 PM - The Thunderbolt Rocket Club and Team American Rocketry Challenge Team from Seneca Ridge Middle School competed in the National Finals of the world's largest rocket contest after qualifying among the top 100 teams in April. The teams finished in 42nd place and were the second highest scoring middle school in the competition.
Ringing in Hope Walk and Run

Leesburg preschool raises thousands to benefit teacher’s foundation

The foundation, which Haines made in honor of her son Shawn who died of Hodgkins Lymphoma when he was 20, helps those living with blood cancers and supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Memorial benefit
Mon., May. 7 | 11:00 AM - The Cormac Finn McCarty Foundation has announced this year's recipient of the Memorial Paul Joseph McCarty Benefit to Sara Brown-Parnell and her family. Brown-Parnell has fought kidney cancer, thyroid cancer, seizures and has had both her kidney and thyroid removed. In October 2011, she learned that her cancer had spread to her other kidney and had metastasized to the brain and lungs. She is currently going under chemotherapy and radiation.
